Solving a customer's accessibility problem 21st January 2020

Ethan Fuller, our Design Engineer, explains how he recently helped one of our rail customers with at tricky access problem for their new trains.

I recently helped provide a bespoke wheelchair ramp design for one of our rail customers, Transpennine Express who needed to make sure their new trains were accessible to people with reduced mobility.

2020 deadline for rail accessibility is fast approaching 9th September 2019

Safe access for disabled passengers and those with reduced mobility continues to be an issue affecting thousands of passengers on British railways each year.

From 1st January 2020, all rail operators will be legally required to ensure all trains are fully accessible for disabled passengers, or face a fine.

Disabled people continue to experience difficulties on Britain's railways 3rd September 2019

New ORR safety report highlights areas for improvement 8th August 2019

The Office of Rail and Road (ORR) has published its annual report on railway health and safety, highlighting a serious incident from July, and noting three key areas which require improvement.

New ORR guidelines to improve travel for disabled passengers 1st August 2019

New Office of Rail and Road guidance has been published with the aim of making it easier for disabled and elderly passengers to travel by rail.

£20m government fund for rail disability improvements 11th July 2019

Applications for a twenty million pound government accessibility fund are now open to stations across the UK rail network.

TFL to retain boarding ramps at Tube Stations 11th September 2012

Manual boarding ramps introduced on the Tube for the Paralympics are to be retained at key stations, TfL has announced. The move will improve accessibility for disabled passengers at 16 stations.
